Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Saturday said that it was encouraging that Hurriyat leaders were “ready for talks.”

He also hailed Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq for speaking on the drug menace. He added that Drug Menace has completely destroyed Punjab while it is spreading its roots in J&K as well.
Malik said Hurriyat’s proactive role in addressing social issues must be welcomed.
He said that Kashmir is a heaven on Earth so the kids in Kashmir should be encouraged to make it even better and reap the benefits of this heaven rather than getting motivated by the propoganda that if they die, they will get a place in heaven.
He also said that Kashmir has a rich heritage and people across the globe acknowledge it's beauty and J&K can be developed as the most developed State in India.
